DESCRIPTION:Loneliness and social isolation have been associated with higher rates of depression\, a weakened immune system\, heart disease\, and dementia. KOOTASCA hosts weekly programming to help people build social connections and reduce isolation. A hot meal is provided each Monday and Wednesday at no cost (donations accepted) and is open to low-income people and non-low-income people to encourage and support the development of building relationships across income lines. \n\n\n\n\nMonday Community Meal is from 4:00-6:00 at 822 NE 5th Ave.\n\nWednesday Lunch is from 11:00-1:00 at 811 NE 4th Street.\n\n\nCircles of Support is a small resource center that provides resources and social connections for low-income people.
